Ocean Muse Waistbeads
I planned to emerge from the ocean looking mysterious and irresistible.
Instead, I came out with seaweed around my ankle, mascara underneath one eye and the sudden realisation that my bikini bottoms had moved.
Still hot, obviously.
Ocean Muse is for the woman who wants to be an enigmatic summer goddess, but also talks too much, brought snacks and needs to know whether the beach bar serves bitterballen.
She contains multitudes.
These traditional West African tie on waistbeads are knotted around your waist or hips and remain there continuously. There is no clasp, no elastic and no pretending you remembered to accessorise.
They are already there.
Beneath your swimsuit.
Underneath your linen trousers.
Hidden during the Monday morning meeting where nobody needs to know you spent Sunday practising your slow motion beach walk.
Ocean Muse stays with you through sunny holidays, rainy weekends, career pivots and dates with people who say they “love the ocean” but own no towels.
Most people will never see your waistbeads.
They will simply assume you have become more interesting.
Correct them only if necessary.
You do not need perfect beach hair, a cinematic love story or the ability to walk gracefully across hot sand.
You only need the body you already have and a willingness to let her be beautifully adorned.
Part of the limited Summer of Self-Care Collection.
Choose your length. Become the muse. Seaweed is optional.
