The Ocean: Turquoise

Welcome to the Tuesday Women’s Club

Were you born on a Tuesday? Come on in. We could feel your energy approaching.

You are sensitive, powerful and probably much deeper than people first realise. You quickly sense what is happening beneath the surface, even when someone smiles and insists that “everything is fine.”

You can be calm and gentle, but that does not mean you cannot make waves.

You know how to adapt when necessary, but you are learning that moving with life is not the same as losing yourself.

Did that feel suspiciously accurate?

Congratulations, queen. Your Tuesday Women’s Club membership has been confirmed.

Your Ewe Day Name

Within Ewe-speaking communities, Abla is one of the traditional names given to a girl born on Tuesday. You may encounter other variations depending on the family or region.

Common male Tuesday names include Kɔbla and Kɔmla.

In Ghana, a day name can connect you to your birth, your family and the day your story began.

No online personality quiz is required, queen. Your birthday already knew the answer.

For this collection, I paired the Ewe name Abla with the traditional Akan symbolism connected to Tuesday: the ocean.

The personality reading on this page is my own creative interpretation of that Tuesday symbolism.

Why Turquoise?

Turquoise represents movement, freedom, depth and the ability to flow with life.

Abla was created for the woman who feels deeply, carries a lot and still finds her way forward.

The ocean does not apologise for her waves. She does not make herself smaller so that other people can feel more comfortable.

Abla reminds you that your sensitivity is not a weakness. It is a form of wisdom.

You do not have to stop every wave.

Sometimes you can trust yourself to swim.

Made for Tuesday Women

Abla was created exclusively for women born on a Tuesday.

You do not have to be Ghanaian to wear her. You only need to honour the Ghanaian traditions behind her and, of course, possess the correct Tuesday credentials.

Consider Abla your official Tuesday Women’s Club membership card.

No swimming lessons are required. Learning to emotionally float will be enough for now.

More Than Beautiful Beads

Abla is a traditional tie-on waist bead handmade with glass beads on cotton string. She has no clasp and no elastic.

Once tied around your waist, she is designed to remain with you while you sleep, shower and live your life.

As your body changes, Abla may sit higher, lower, tighter or looser. She helps you notice your body without immediately judging it.

Small variations in colour and bead placement make every waist bead unique.

Your Ocean Is Waiting

You were not simply born on a Tuesday.

You belong to the Tuesday Women’s Club.

Abla is imported from Ghana in small batches. Once she is gone, she will not return until the next shipment arrives.

Tie her around your waist. Trust your depth. Add Abla to your cart.
