Within Ewe-speaking communities, Akɔsia is one of the traditional names given to a girl born on Sunday. Different families and regions may also use variations such as Akɔsua, Esi or Awusi.

For this collection, I paired the Ewe name Akɔsia with the traditional Akan symbolism connected to Sunday: everything beneath the sun and the universe itself.
